When I received my acceptance email into the TechGirls US Exchange Program, I found myself on cloud 9! Out of thousands of applications, I was one of only three girls chosen from Cameroon. I never thought my voice would be heard, but this opportunity proved me wrong.
At just 16, I embarked on my first international trip, and it was a dream come true. Walking through the iconic walls of NASA, the world's biggest space company, was a surreal experience. I also had the opportunity to learn from esteemed professors at Virginia Tech, where I gained valuable insights into STEM fields. The academic rigor and hands-on experiences were truly enriching.
But it wasn't all about academics; I also made unforgettable memories with my fellow Tech Girls! We stayed up late in our dorms, chatting, laughing, and bonding over shared experiences. Those late-night conversations turned into lifelong friendships.

In one summer, I boarded more planes than I ever imagined! It was exhilarating to explore new places, meet new people, and push beyond my comfort zone.
The TechGirls program wasn't just about coding and tech; it was about empowerment, leadership, and connection. It taught me to believe in myself, take risks, and amplify my voice. As Maya Angelou once said, "Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better."
To all the young girls out there, I want to say: don't be afraid to dream big, apply, and take chances. Your voice matters, and your story can inspire others. Keep pushing boundaries, breaking barriers, and reaching for the stars! It Pays To Apply
