Closing Ceremony: The Open Dreams Summer Academy, #ODSA2026, The Batch of Legacy, Yaoundé

Six weeks ago, they arrived as high-achieving young Cameroonians with dreams, questions, talents, and ambitions.

Today, they stand at the end of a remarkable journey, and at the beginning of something much bigger.

Welcome to the closing ceremony of the Open Dreams Summer Academy 2026 — Batch of Legacy.

For these young dreamers, the Summer Academy has been a journey of learning, leadership, self-discovery, creativity, friendship, and purpose.

Across the academy, classrooms became spaces for critical thinking. Conversations became opportunities to challenge ideas. Hackathons sparked innovation. Public speaking built confidence. Hikes tested resilience. Cultural performances celebrated identity. And, perhaps most importantly, young people learned from one another.

This year's experience was also powered by an extraordinary spirit of giving back, with Open Dreams Scholars returning from their own journeys, in their numbers, to serve as mentors, Program Facilitators, and role models for the next generation.

That is the Open Dreams legacy: one generation opens doors for the next.

The Batch of Legacy now inherits that responsibility.
