I am an African woman, and my identity is reflected in that diversity.
The different ways I wear my hair, the richness of my culture, the values I carry, and the way I see the world all tell a story about where I come from.
I am not easily influenced to abandon my identity because another culture exists.
I can embrace the world without losing myself in it.
I am the Voice of Wisdom.
I am resilient.
I am innovative.
I am resourceful.
As we celebrate Africa Day alongside the African Union's continued vision for unity, dignity, empowerment, and development across the continent, I am reminded that Africaβs strength has always been in its people, resilience, culture, and ability to rise despite every challenge.
I refuse to be limited by my background.
Instead, I choose to rise, build, lead, and contribute to the next generation of transformational leaders across Africa.
Being African is not something I hide.
It is something I carry with pride
