At the Open Dreams Center in Yaoundé, we recently shared heartfelt final moments with Kaleb Wever and Charles Woodkensia, as they concluded their Fulbright Teacher Exchanges Year-Abroad Program in Cameroon.

Over the past year, they immersed themselves deeply in Cameroonian culture, education, and community life, gaining first-hand insight while also serving as Ambassadors of American Culture and values. Their presence fostered mutual understanding, cultural exchanges, and connections that will continue to inspire long after their return.

In a brief response to what her time in Cameroon was like, Charles said it was an experience she will live with forever.

Open Dreams Scholars greatly benefited from their insights during events like the Open Dreams Graduate Summit (#ODGS2024) and regular mentorship programs at the Open Dreams Center in Yaoundé, where both Charles and Kaleb played powerful roles as guest speakers from across the Atlantic.
As we bid them farewell, we are equally thrilled to welcome Giorgio Rahal, freshly from the USA. On the sidelines of his official duty in Cameroon, he will be joining us for the Open Dreams Summer Academy, #ODSA2025, to support Pre-Scholars with SAT/Duolingo prep, soft skills training, and more!

We are grateful to our liaison, Nnane Ntube, and global collaborators who continue to enrich the Open Dreams Scholar experience. Together, we grow stronger.
