In a world where learning increasingly transcends borders, Gussa Lekungha Sama Britney stands out as a symbol of what’s possible when passion meets opportunity. An Open Dreams Scholar (Yaoundé Pioneer Cohort 2019) and sixth-year medical student at the University of Buea, she champions collaboration, cultural exchange, and excellence in medical education.

As Director of the Standing Committee on Professional Exchange (SCOPE), under the Cameroon Medical Students’ Association CAMSA, Gussa promotes international exchange programs that let Cameroonian medical students experience diverse healthcare systems.
She trained in Vascular Surgery at Warsaw, Poland in 2024 and, more recently, in Ophthalmic Surgery at the University of Sherbrooke, Canada, this September 2025.
Under her leadership, exchanges now include Nigeria, Russia, Kenya, and Italy, with upcoming programs in Egypt and Iceland, while CAMSA has welcomed students from Canada and will soon host students from Germany, Switzerland, Estonia, and the Central African Republic.
Gussa’s journey reflects the transformative power of education, service, and global engagement. Her passion for medicine, leadership, and collaboration continues to open doors for other medical students across Cameroon, inspiring them to dream bigger and aim higher.
