As a young girl, I never thought I'd board a plane, let alone land in Oxford. I always thought of a plane like something I could only see far away in the sky. The feeling of ever entering a plane was a distant fantasy, a fleeting thought that seemed very impossible.

But life had other plans for me. With the guidance of my amazing mentor, Seka Jean Blaise, I applied for the Rise. In the beginning, I didn't believe in what I was actually doing. But along the line, I fell in love with my project, Lady's Pride. I saw the impact it had on young people after every campaign and every video I made.
The journey was incredible, and the impact was profound. In the end, I was humbled to become the first female Rise winner from Cameroon, a testament to the power of perseverance, hard work and determination.

And now, here I am in Oxford, surrounded by fellow winners and thinkers from all over the world, learning from their experiences. I'm excited to connect with them, learn from their diverse perspectives, and amplify my impact, and inspire others to chase their dreams.

The journey continues, and I'm eager to see where it takes me next. - Nouriatu Leinyuy Mayenin | Open Dreams
