We are delighted to announce the designation of Nomboh Evans Kunchu as the Lead for the Open Dreams Tech Skills Academy (ODTSA) 2026.

As technology continues to reshape every sector of society, from education and healthcare to finance, entrepreneurship, and governance, equipping young people with relevant digital skills has become more important than ever.

At Open Dreams, we believe that access to technology is not only about learning how to use digital tools; it is about empowering young people to become creators, innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders who can leverage emerging technologies to transform their communities. Nomboh Evans Kunchu embodies this vision. He is an author, technology entrepreneur, and the Founder & CEO of BluPay, a digital company leveraging innovative financial technologies to improve access and efficiency in cross-border payments.

Evans holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical Engineering from African Leadership University, Mauritius, and is FMVA-certified.

Driven by a passion for emerging technologies, Evans works at the forefront of decentralized finance (DeFi), artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and financial innovation.  Through his work, he explores how technology can advance financial inclusion, streamline financial systems, and create intelligent solutions that respond to real-world challenges.

As Lead of ODTSA2026, Evans will guide young dreamers through a transformative learning experience focused on practical, future-ready technology skills, preparing them not only to participate in the digital economy but also to shape its future. He will be closely assisted by accomplished technology professional Josias Djimi, Epiphanie Ngasoh, who oversees administration and finance, Ebai Ekwet, in charge of corporate communication and administration, alongside a dedicated team of program facilitators, mentors, and members of the Open Dreams community who share a commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators.

We are deeply grateful to the MTN Foundation for its outstanding commitment to youth empowerment and digital inclusion through the establishment of the Open Dreams Digital Center in Yaoundé. July 2026 marks exactly one year since this transformative facility was handed over to our community. The Center is fast-growing into a vibrant innovation space where young people explore technology, build skills, collaborate, and turn their dreams into possibilities. Dreams are enhanced by digital innovations.

Following the move of the former Head of the Digital Center, Moses Afopezi, to pursue graduate studies, Nomboh Evans will also serve as the transitional Head of the Open Dreams Digital Center until the end of August 2026.

Beginning September 2026, the leadership baton will be passed to Kom Zeking Paule Ursulla, a cybersecurity engineer, researcher, and community leader who also represents the future of technology leadership at Open Dreams.

Ursulla holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) and Master of Engineering (MEng) in Computer Engineering from the University of Bamenda, Cameroon. Passionate about cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies, she leverages automation, Zero-Trust security principles, and AI-driven solutions to strengthen digital resilience, mentor aspiring technology professionals, and develop innovative solutions with lasting impact across Africa.

Beyond her technical expertise, Ursulla is a powerful voice within the Open Dreams community, particularly in inspiring and emboldening young girls and the youth in general to consider careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Her passion reflects our belief that technology leadership must be inclusive and that young women and young people as a whole must be empowered to take their rightful place in shaping the future of innovation.

She will build on the strong foundation established by previous leaders of the Digital Center, working with partners like TechWomen, TechGirls, mentors, and the Open Dreams community to continue positioning the Center as a hub where young dreamers access opportunities, develop digital competencies, and create solutions.

At Open Dreams, we remain committed to preparing young people not only for the opportunities of today, but also for the possibilities of the future.

The future is digital. The future is innovative. The future belongs to dreamers who dare to create.
