Last week, Dr. Gilbert Miki was in Copenhagen, Denmark 🇩🇰 for the School Meals Funders Forum organized by the Novo Nordisk Foundation in collaboration with the World Food Programme.

"It was an absolute honor to be on a panel with global thought leaders in the School Health and Nutrition space, including representatives from the World Bank, the Sustainable Finance Initiative, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the World Food Programme" - Dr. Miki shared, while reflecting on the experiences.

This event was a historic moment, activating the power of Public-Private Partnership to accelerate efforts towards promoting Home-Grown School Feeding in East Africa.
As the Evidence-Based Policy Advisor on School Meals at the Research Consortium for School Health and Nutrition, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and the Focal Point for the African Union School Feeding Cluster, this moment was particularly significant to Dr. Miki. He contributed to crucial conversations focused on the key steps needed to feed an additional 150 million children globally — building on the 418 million children who already benefit from school meals worldwide, including 86 million children across Africa.
The momentum from this forum sets a strong foundation for continued advocacy and action towards ensuring that every child has access to a nutritious meal at school — a step forward for education, health, and development across the globe.
