From October 2025 to March 2026, I had the privilege of participating in the Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) Public Leaders Program (PLP). Today, I am happy to share that I have successfully completed this incredible journey.

The experience was truly inspiring. I learned from the distinguished faculty of the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford, and from outstanding leaders and speakers such as Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, Hadiza Bala Usman, and Frank Nweke II, among many others. One lesson stood out clearly: public service is not just about job security—it is about delivering real value and satisfaction to the public. Being called to serve is a privilege, and true fulfillment comes from serving with excellence.

The program was also a powerful moment of connection. I connected more deeply with myself, with remarkable peers, and with brilliant faculty and speakers. Participants came from five African countries, bringing together more than 1,000 years of combined professional experience. It felt like learning from an entire century of wisdom!

The journey concluded in Abuja, Nigeria, where I received my certificate. But the real work begins now. The expectation is clear: to help transform public service in my country—starting with myself and those around me. Change does not begin at the top; it begins now, in the present. Leadership is about acting today.

I know the path ahead will not always be easy, but I am confident because I am not alone. Cohort 5 of the AIG PLP – “The Legacy Builders” – has my back.

My sincere thanks to the AIG-Imoukhuede Foundation and the entire program team, especially James Ogwuche, the faculty of the University of Oxford, Professors Ciaran Martin and Emily Jones, the teaching associates—particularly Amirah Karca and Victor Aboga—all the guest speakers, and my amazing peers who made both the online and in-person sessions truly memorable.
