This month April 2025, I had the amazing opportunity to take part in The Washington Center’s Cybersecurity Policy Academic Seminar in Washington, D.C., and what an unforgettable experience it was!

For four days, I joined students and young professionals from around the world to learn about the current challenges and the future of cybersecurity. We heard from experts in government, business, and education who shared insights on cyber threats, digital laws, national security, and more. These conversations gave me a deeper understanding of how important cybersecurity is in today’s world—and how much we need people from different backgrounds working together to solve big problems.

One thing that really stood out to me was how much the field of cybersecurity depends on teamwork, ethics, and strong leadership. It’s not just about computers and technology, it’s also about people, ideas, and policy.

I also attended sessions focused on career growth, leadership skills, and how to find your path in this fast-moving field.

Thanks to The Washington Center and everyone involved in the seminar, I’ve come away with new knowledge, new connections, and a clearer vision for my future in cybersecurity.

I’m especially grateful to Open Dreams for supporting me and helping make this opportunity possible.

This experience has inspired me to keep growing, keep learning, and to help others see what’s possible, especially to young people in my community who want to make a difference in the world.
