This 2025 summer, I had the life-changing opportunity to attend the Teen Summer Program in the United States, and it was nothing short of unforgettable. As the only African participant, I was proud to represent my continent while learning, growing, and connecting with young leaders from around the world.

Some of the biggest highlights included visiting major global institutions like the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). At each stop, we met professionals who work daily to address global challenges, from poverty and economic inequality to innovation and development. It was eye-opening to see how these organizations shape our world and how youth like us can be part of the solution.
We also took part in leadership workshops, team projects on real-world issues, and cultural exchanges that helped me grow in confidence and purpose. Exploring Washington D.C. and New York City was the cherry on top—especially seeing the Statue of Liberty, visiting museums, and sharing joyful moments with my amazing host family who treated me like one of their own.
This experience has truly transformed me. I came back home more inspired, more courageous, and more determined to be a changemaker. If there’s one thing I learned, it’s this: your dreams are valid, and your voice matters—no matter where you come from.
