Full Circle: From the Classroom to Chevening | Toulack Kingsley

I was honored to be invited by the UK High Commission in Yaoundé to the Orientation and Pre-Departure Ceremony for the 2025 Chevening and Commonwealth Scholars.

The event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with a diverse group of future leaders, learn from their perspectives, and share my own experiences as a Chevening Scholar in 2023.

It was also a deeply fulfilling moment to stand alongside my former student, Fifen Mohamed Aziz, whom I taught 19 years ago and later mentored through the Chevening journey. Seeing him excel as a scholar filled me with immense pride.

To aspiring leaders in Cameroon: you could be the next Chevening or Commonwealth Scholar. The application window for the 2026/2027 academic year is now open—take the step and apply.

Finally, the ceremony was a great chance to reconnect with fellow Chevening alumni from my cohort and earlier ones, and to tap into the invaluable opportunities that this vibrant network continues to offer.
