On April 25th, 2024, I had the privilege of speaking to over 200 bright minds in grades 10 through 12 at Government Bilingual High School Mabanda in Douala - Cameroon about our upcoming Open Dreams Summer Academy program. .
The enthusiasm and energy in the room were palpable as we discussed the essential skills they could gain by attending.
But it wasn't just about academics – it was about fostering a sense of community and giving back.
I highlighted the importance of contributing to our communities, knowing that it not only shapes who we are but also makes a meaningful difference in the world around us.
It was exciting to see so many students feeling motivated to double their efforts in their studies, knowing that their hard work could lead to becoming a scholarship recipient.
It's moments like these that remind me why I do what I do – to empower and uplift the next generation.
I am grateful to Open Dreams for providing this platform through which students can dream beyond the scope of their family background.
