At Open Dreams, we are privileged to learn from a team of exceptional educators whose leadership extends far beyond our classrooms and mentorship spaces - they are global educators serving students and richly contributing to professional development programs and teacher exchanges.

Recently, several of our program facilitators shared their expertise at the Africa ELTA Conference 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya. Among them were Atem Arabella (our Entrepreneurship Lead), Robert Kenfack, Yiviri Rasifatu (our Graduate Mentorship Lead), and Samaratou Fomunyuy Sahmo, NNANE NTUBE (our "Indigenous Literature" Lead), Cynthia Fokwang etc who delivered thought-provoking conversations on innovative teaching, professional development, teacher agency, and multilingual education.

At the conference, the team of distinguished professionals made the following contributions: Atem Arabella led a presentation on "Visualising Writing Through Jumbled Stories and Story Cards".

Nnane Ntube led a presentation on "Empowering Identity through Language and Literature: Bridging Community and Classroom".

Robert Kenfack delivered a presentation on Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Rasifatu Yiviri delivered a presentation on "Teacher Agency in ELT Multilingual Classrooms in Africa". •  Ethel Fomunyuy presented on "Creating Positive Psychology in EFL/ELT Classrooms to Enhance Subskills." Cynthia Fokwang participated in a panel discussion on Translanguaging Together, these presentations, under the Cameroon English Language and Literature Teachers' Association - CAMELTA, reflected a rich collection of innovative ideas centered on literacy development, identity, multilingual education, teacher agency, professional growth, positive psychology, and inclusive classroom practices. They underscore the important role educators continue to play in leading intellectual conversations and advancing educational excellence at both local and international levels.

Their participation also reflects a hallmark of our community spirit at Open Dreams: ambitious minds that continually seek global learning opportunities, contribute to international academic conversations, and return home with new knowledge, perspectives, and best practices to serve and to empower.

Open Dreams Pre-Scholars are fortunate to be mentored by leaders who are not only transforming education locally but are also helping shape educational discourse across Africa and beyond.

English is the language of globalization, which opens doors to academic, professional, and leadership opportunities around the world. That is why at Open Dreams, English Language programs are cardinal in the mentorship process. Many opportunities have been unlocked by Open Dreams mentees thanks to their strong English language skills. As a country with two major international languages as official languages, Cameroon occupies a unique position at the crossroads of global opportunities.
