At Open Dreams, we believe in the power of young people to transform the world, and last year 2025, our community proved it in a big way.

Moses Afopezi, Co-Founder & CEO of Skolarr and AgricFresh, continues to rewrite the narrative of what young African tech leaders can achieve. Through Skolarr, an AI-powered educational platform serving over 20,000 students, Moses has expanded access to quality learning for students across Cameroon’s English and French systems, even in conflict-affected regions.
In 2025, Moses took his vision global: he won the prestigious Africa Eco-Innovation Challenge, beating out innovators from across the continent with AgricFresh, a solar-powered cold storage solution that combats post-harvest loss, empowers farmers, and strengthens sustainable agricultural value chains. His victory came with mentorship and strategic support from MTN, WWF, UNDP, GSMA, and more, spotlighting him as a leading voice in Africa’s climate and tech innovation ecosystem.
🌟 Seka Jean-Blaise (aka DeWise), General Affairs Lead at Open Dreams and visionary behind WiseCool, has also taken centre stage on the world stage. WiseCool harnesses AI + solar technology to dramatically extend the shelf life of temperature-sensitive medicines in off-grid regions, a lifesaving solution for rural communities where cold chains are unreliable or nonexistent.
Against fierce competition from innovators across Africa, Seka was named Raise Africa’s Young Talent of the Year at the RES4Africa awards in Milan, Italy, a recognition supported by the European Investment Bank, Enel Green Power, and other major partners and celebrated at a high-profile global platform.
These journeys, crossing continents, overcoming barriers, and winning international acclaim, are proof of what youth creativity, resilience, and purpose can accomplish. Moses and Seka put African innovation on the global agenda in technology, education, energy, agriculture, climate resilience, and health equity.
Their success is an inspiration: from the classrooms of Cameroon to the innovation stages in Johannesburg, Addis Ababa, Riyadh, Milan, etc., our heroes show the world how far a dream can go when it’s powered by passion and purpose.
Join us in celebrating Moses Afopezi and Seka Jean-Blaise, who are among our heroes of 2025 and champions of tomorrow’s solutions.
